Kedampal Water Project Ongoing
After almost 2,5 years been expecting, finally community of Dusun Kedampal, Desa Datah, Kecamatan Abang, Karangasem Bali now can have their pipes installation to their house or at least not so much far from their home. From 514 families in Kedampal 87 among them doesn’t have access water from reservoir who built by government on 2013. The Chief of Kedampal been trying to propose to Karangasem government but doesn’t get answer. He came to Rotary Bali Ubud Sunset when our club held a Healthy Day at Kedampal. We checked it and making the budget and propose to Rotary club that we know, Sue and Ray Bishop talked to member of Rotary Alfredton Australia. Good news coming on Pebruary when Rotary Club of Alfredton Victoria Australia agreed to sponsored the water project.
March the whole world face the pandemic of Covid-19, policy and protocol from government make we postpone to process this project, beginning of August when government announced new normal, we discuss at club meeting about to start it and chief Kedampal are agree and ready to start the project.
On August 13 2020 club treasurer Brian Goldman and Kadek Raharja, went there to check, make commitment with the community, and to make sure how the pipes and tanks installation will doing by community in there, everything work well. The pipes and tanks installation has 3 stage, first stage 3200m pipes long, 2 tanks 1100lt and 3 tanks 3600lt provide for 57 families, stage 2 is 1056m pipes long and one tank 3600lt provide for 21 families, stage 3 repairing pipes for 500m long, pipes installation 400m long and one tank for 9 families. August 30 2020 Brian Goldman, Kadek Erawan, Kadek Raharja, and Anom check, everything working on track and the progress doing well they just do impressive job. The just need to installation from pipes to tanks, its just one step closer to finish.by
