Annemarie has been a great friend to our club.  She has contributed several wall hangings for us to auction off with the proceeds going to our projects.  We made Annemarie an Honorary Member several years ago

for all the help and contributions to our club.  Her many beautiful wall hangings are all done on antique Batik fabric and then she adds semi-precious stones to it to produce an outstanding 3-D artistic piece that anyone would be proud to hang on their wall in their home or office.

Annemarie Kipur was born in Germany and graduated with honors from the University in Dresden.

The famous restaurant known as “Annemaries” in San Francisco was conceived, designed, built, decorated, operated and managed by Annemarie. Having come to Bali to write a book, she is now bringing her love of fine jewels to a new level in her Indonesian-inspired series of jeweled batik wall hangings and bedcovers. Most of the fabrics used are antique.  All of her pieces are one-offs, impossible to recreate or copy, as a batik used is rare. In Bali, Annemarie has had two one-women shows and has participated in group shows at the Sheraton Nus Indah, Nusa Dua Bali on the occasion of the International Tourism Organization Conference in 1993.

She has collections in Europe, the US, and Australia and have sold for several hundreds of dollars for small pieces to many thousands of dollars for her large pieces..

Her award winning works are owned by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama; Richard Gere; Elizabeth Taylor; and many more throughput the world. She has had many exhibitions, over the years, in many of the finest local hotels and galleries both here in Bali and in Jakarta as well.  She has been mentioned in the following magazines: Dewi – Sonny Sandaya; Asri – author Ratih Teguh; Lazaz; Now Bali; Bali and Beyond; Maxx-M; and more.  Plus the following newspapers: Jakarta Post; Republica, Jakarta; Business News; Bali News; Manuntung Kalimantan; and more.

Her work, which is all hand done is in demand all over the world.
