ANNOUNCEMENTS, CORRESPONDENCE, REPORTS
back to Rtn Karen Lewis, who has been busy in Australia for several months.
Sue went around the room asking members if they had anything special going on in their lives recently:
SAA Bruce shared about his experience getting BPJS card (national health card) [the good one] and how easy it was.
For only 59,500 rupiah per month he now has complete Indonesian health coverage including hospitalization. He also shared about his attempts to obtain a spouse sponsored KITAS – VERY difficult and is now about to obtain his first KITAP which is like a KITAS but good for five years!
Rtn Karen Lewis shared her moving houses experience, involving a lot of boxes and the time it takes to rearrange one’s keepsakes. She said she needed to return to Australia to complete the tasks of putting things in storage.
Rtn Danielle told of how her pembantu’s entire family had caught dengue fever and the difficulty this caused when the entire family has to deal with this terrible sickness. She mentioned that she and Rich have been sharing the house duties.
Pres. Philip told how he got a practical experience with the usage of BPJS card with a, luckily, short stay at the Ari Chinta hospital in Mas but that he is doing well now.
VP Rucina told of her going to court in Gianya to officially change her name and what she experienced, very humorous, with the help of Sue as a witness. Rucina is now legally Rucina. Sue also shared experience as witness in court.
Exec Secty Marilyn told us all how Joady Barne’s wife has fully recovered from cancer
It was announced that the next Club Assembly will be 22 Feb 2015 at Sue’s place at 14:00. A survey is being sent out to ask several questions about making the club an even better club and it is requested that we all answer the questions and bring the answers with us on that Sunday.
Some Rotaract activities were announced. The Hong Kong Rotaracts want to come to Bali at the end of July and we will work on helping them with that.
A Club and Rotaract activity has been suggested by Rtn Dr. Steve. He suggested that we all go to Bali Peduli clinic, Sayan Puskemas to get tested for HIV. This will help us all understand how easy and pain free it is and how little time it takes. This way we can encourage others to do the same.
Sue passed the mic around to gather member’s input about this. Some said it will be an awkward experience as there may be privacy issues. Some said it’s OK. Rucina suggested that the Rotaracts can come for an educational session instead of testing and then get tested on their own if they wished.
Marilyn and Sue gave a good overview of where project money comes from; how to use it; and our club’s balances in Project and Foundation Accounts PP. Marilyn did not manage to finish it so everyone encouraged to read the copies
AnneMarie Kipar’s hanging auction: AnneMarie has graciously donated a beautiful full size tapestry hand-made by her that she is so famous for doing. Bruce will make photos and measurements, Karen Lewis will post it in Ubud’s many Facebook pages. We are in the process of adding an ‘Auction Page’ to our web site so we can auction this item off ourselves instead of paying PayPal, etc. commissions.
