ANNOUNCEMENTS, CORRESPONDENCE, REPORTS
VP Rucina chaired the meeting in the absence of P Philip and PE Allan.
ES Marilyn reported on the Tengganan Dauh Tukad project to bring water and sanitation to the local school, purchase shoes and provide a health check. There have been delays in implementing the project but hopefully it will begin before Galungan or it will have to wait 42 days.
Rucina reminded us although our club is different from other clubs but we share the same spirit and goals. The Rotary wheel has been a symbol of Rotary since 1905. The version updated in 1923 has 24 cogs and 6 spokes. Woman were permitted to join only after 1987.
Guest speaker Kat McDivitt spoke on how to permanently eliminate allergies. According to the WHO, worldwide sensitisation rates in school children are now 40- 50% and tend to be more prevalent in developed countries. Between 1997-2005 there has been a 265% rise in hospitalisations due to allergy. People with allergies are at a higher risk of getting more of them.
Allergies can be of quick onset and can also be released quickly. Three therapies are NEAT which works with the meridians, a technique of desensitisation which can also be done through acupuncture, EFT (desensitisation by tapping through self-care) and NLP (re-patterning unconscious patterns). NLP is especially effective when the allergens are known.
The raffle was won by Marilyn.
