RTN Dora rose well to the occasion and ran tonight’s meeting with humor and focus!  She started by having all our guests introduce themselves.  She then introduced our Treasurer, Allan, who introduced Renee Heaton, who he has sponsored for membership.  Pres. Bruce then asked Renee

to rise and pinned her as the newest member of our Rotary Club.  She made some sweet short comments.  In the last 4 meetings we have inducted a new member at each.  I think this is a club record of four meeting and four new members!

Allan then spoke about RYLA and how much good it does and that our club was sponsoring 2 to attend RYLA next May.  One of our guests, Ayu, PE Denpasar Rotary Club, added additional beautiful comments on how RYLA helped her.

It was also announced that we now have an official Greeter.  RTN Abe will do those duties when we meet at the Maya on the last Monday of every month.  Being a greeter is a great way to learn more about our members and guests and to help out.  We know he’ll do a great job.

Allan spoke about the Rotaract’s Mobile Library project which brings books to schools, some of which have NO books that the kids want to look at.  This week,

he will be purchasing enough Library books for 3 classrooms at a local school.  We know that books really encourage students to want to learn to read and find enjoyment in books.

Dora also mentioned that our club is sponsoring several Rotaracts to go to Java for an event there and how important it is.

One of our honored guests, Sue Bishop, spoke about our Speakers next week who will speaking about Moringa (Kelor) which is a miraculous plant which they are helping locals in poor areas to plant.  Every part of this plant, which is very hardy and grows with little water, is edible and adds a huge amount of nutrition, vitamins, etc.

Our next meeting will be NEXT Monday, 20 March instead of the following last Monday of the month.  The reason is that the last Monday is the wonderful holiday of NYEPI.  So we will meet next week at Maya 5:30-7PM.
