Rtn Rosalind announced that our holiday benefit dinner on December 14 here at Maya Resort and Spa, was a huge success.  All 80 tickets had been sold. The profit from the raffle was 9.5 juta.  Total profit from the event will be about 50 juta, our biggest fund raiser to date.*

*This quick estimate in a moment of delirium was later revised down to over 33 juta – still an impressive addition to our Projects Fund.

VP Rucina introduced Jack Blaylock, our guest speaker. Jack is from Hawaii and has lived in Ubud for many years.  His many interests include astronomy and he spoke to the club about the sun.  The sun is actually a star. There are many suns in the universe; some are hot, some cool, ours is rather small in comparison and is, in fact, a giant ball of gas 150 million kilometres away. Jack’s well-illustrated talk was geared to a lay audience, making a complex subject both comprehensive and fascinating.

The raffle prize of a 2015 calendar was won by Karen Lewis.

This is our last meeting of the year.
