ANNOUNCEMENTS, CORRESPONDENCE, REPORTS
President Philip opened the meeting.
Sec. Cat reported on her monitoring trip to West Sumba for the Global Grant tanks and toilets project. Of the 19 toilets installed in the first village, only 4 are now in use. The next visit will be in about 3 months.
RTN Rich reported on the closing ceremony of the Aas project, and to explore whether there was a cost effective way to connect 40 more families with spring water. A stiff 5 hour hike to a spring revealed that the spring was not producing enough water so they will use water from the well that is supplying the Aas project.
Annie visited the Rumah Sehat clinic with the Bishops in Karangasam. Here is a main clinic at Celuk and 5 outreach clinics. There have been 4000 clinic visits in less than a year.
PE Allan updated information about the Global Grant which is still being written. It will address access to water and health care education/ support. Anne has offered to prepare the documentation for the GG which should span three years.
Rotaractor President Gusde handed over to President Elect Yeni for 2015-16.
President Philip handed over to President Elect Allan.
Allan thanked Philip for his efforts over the past year and outgoing Board members IPP Sue, ES Marilyn, Ros, VP Rucina, SAA Bruce and T. Driya. The new Board consists of himself Karen Lewis(Community Services Director), Glenn (Projects), Danielle (Rotary Foundation Director) and Cat as Secretary for the next few months. There are still some positions to be filled ie Treasurer and Vice President.
The RI motto for 2015-16 is Be a Gift to the World. RCBUS will be in a rebuilding phase for at least a year and so will likely not undertake many projects in this time. Allan plans to engage and involve club members in projects and activities.
Annie will be inducted next week at the first meeting of the year, which will be a working meeting for members and any guests who want to attend.
There was no raffle this week.
