Jack Blaylock

He has been living in Bali for 30 years, most of his life has been a self employed entrepreneur, he is multilingual, a musician, a writer, amateur solar astronomer and keen follower of the Austrian School of Economic, he founded Crisis Care Bali – a free health clinic in Lovina. He talk about being in love and have an intimate relationship with a Balinese family in Tabanan which gave him an emotional moment as he told us about this “family” and becoming a part of that family. He told us how his close relationship with this family transformed from his being a special guest when he visited and being treated specially to being considered an actual member of the family.  This meant taking part in all the things the family did: preparing rituals and ceremonies, working in the rice fields and more.  You could tell this meant a lot to him as he got a little emotionally touched as he spoke.  It was very touching to us all.

Cleft Lip Baby update from Community Service Director Dora, the operation will be held in August when the baby is ready, Smile Foundation will pay all fees for the operation, all our members voted be responsible for funding of the families transportation costs, which is about Rp. 1,000,000.
