Bulletin May 30, 2016
ANNOUNCEMENTS, CORRESPONDENCE, REPORTS
selected one retailer in Peliatan and ordered 100 helmets but before distributing or ordering more Terri would like to personally (and with any other ‘motor bike accessory experts’) check the quality of the product. She is to contact project team for meeting before next meeting or before she leaves on 22nd June.
Karangasem Water Projects: RTN Rich reported that the scope & cost confirmation of the next project up there are underway, hope to visit before the team departs. Project #18 is in embryonic stage of planning as well.
Both Terri & RTN Penny have sent proposals to all members for projects they would like included. Please look them over and comment.
Any future project ideas? Please create a proposal and send them all to PE Bruce so they might be included in next year’s budget.
Turn-over officer’s meeting will be held at Kakiang on 12 June from 2-4PM at Kakiang. Since Kakiang is smaller (but no cost to attend), we are limiting to 20 people maximum for the meeting including ½ dozen Rotaractors or those outgoing and incoming position holders along with our incoming and outgoing officers. Please plan on attending to hear what plans PE Bruce has for next year and enter the discussion!
RCBUS Vacations – Since almost all our members will be out of Bali for most of June and July, Bruce moved that we have no meetings after 22 June, for all or July and the first meeting after that be 01 August. It was passed!
Daniel Rosenqvist from Sweden represented his partner, Kevin Kumala, and his company, AVANI and spoke about their concerns about the Balinese and world environment and the waste that we create primarily with plastic, and their project to address this problem. They have created a product designed by an Indonesian that is completely biodegradable – made from natural products of Cassava to make bags which when they break down return goodness to the soil as it is plant protein. This was proven with a wonderful demonstration where Daniel poured boiling water on a sample of his product and once dissolved in just a minute or so, was able to drink the water!! Biodegradable AND nourishing!!! It was an interesting and inspiring presentation from a company that is trying to right the environmental wrongs in the world and developing an Indonesian idea in Indonesia to help Indonesians. They can be contacted on www.biowearbali.com and firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks Daniel!
Meeting closed at 7:00
Next Meeting to be at Kakiang on Monday June 6th 5:30-7PM.
