I am a retired Canadian, and have been living in Bali for the past 5 years. I have been an avid runner for many years and when I retired I decided to make my retired life interesting by running a marathon on all seven continents. When I made that decision I was not even sure it was possible because I had no idea there would be a marathon in Antarctica. At the time of my retirement I had run only two marathons both in north America. On March 9th I will be in Antarctic to attempt my 7th continent.

It is interesting to know that from long time past, a number of ethnic groups have formed what we know as Balinese society today, consisting of different religious beliefs and cultures.
I want to conduct a small campaign about the rescue and protection of old ritual objects in Bali , to invoke a discussion about how the ancient “adat” rules can protect historic objects so that the indigenous Balinese people of today can implement these rules instead of committing cultural suicide.
I have personally seen the destruction of sacred objects by the Balinese themselves and this issue is not being discussed and needs to be as these objects have incredible historical and culture value.
