A new HIV Clinic opened in Ubud, Bali in July 2013, with the help of Rotary funding secured by Rotary Club Bali Ubud Sunset (RCBUS). Klinik Anggrek, which also treats all kinds of STDs, is housed in the general health clinic Puskesmas Ubud II in Sayan Ubud.

Test results are available within one hour, and counseling is immediate. As of April, 2014, the clinic had conducted over 462 tests for HIV and STI, with 396 total patients and 771 visits – proof of a vital need in our area.

A Rotary Global Grant funded the renovations and testing equipment; it also funded medications, medical personnel training and community educational outreach for one year. Funds from RCBUS and three California Rotary Clubs (La Jolla Golden Triangle, Blythe, and Carlsbad High-Noon) were matched by funds from The Rotary Foundation for a total of US $57,000. Funding is currently sought for the clinic’s second year of operations.
