Our guest speaker Bob Selinger, has been a Rotary member for 47 years; the past 7.5 years working as a volunteer in Zimbabwe and Zambia, Africa. He has been training former prostitutes in Livingstone, Zambia, to produce Rotary shirts, hats, aprons, the proceeds going to train others and ultimately to empower them to have their own business and not have to sell themselves.

He then discussed applying for grants, advising us to go for Global grants, forget District grants! THINK BIG!!  We need to look for appropriate contact persons, overseas clubs such as Australia, USA, Asia, Taiwan and Singapore. To prepare the Global Grant application and send to the right club! He has offered further support and advice, especially after he built a hospital in Africa, with grants and accessing free equipment!!

Thank you Bob, very informative, He won the raffle prize tonight!

Meeting closed at 7pm,

Next meeting Maya Resort and Spa, 28th January, 2019, guest speaker Cat Wheeler.
