Pres. Alan welcomed everyone and in particular visiting Rotarians from the Rotary Club in South Melbourne – Rtn Bill and Marg Hamilton.

Updates to old business included:

  • Terri with a helmet

    Terri with a helmet

    Our Helmets project – funds have been received from eClub One. The next steps are for Terri who will transfer further funds when our new account is opened.  In addition the team is looking for an alternate helmet supplier for Ubud.

  • Rotaracts Mobile Library Project – Proposal was submitted to the board by VP Bruce for stationary to supplement the reading program. This has been approved by the board for an expenditure of 1 million rupiahs to purchase writing paper and pencils.
  • Karangasem water projects – A follow up visit is planned for this Saturday leaving Buanna Alit at 700 am.
  • Issues from the floor – A discussion was had about the support for Kaler. the information shared assisted members to understand the project aim and some detail behind for consideration at the coming board meeting.  We have helped Kaler to support his family while Kaler worked to obtain his Ph.D.  He will complete his studies Fen 2017 and in a meeting with Bruce and Allan explained how he would give back to the Balinese from his

The meeting of the 25th of April will be at Maya Resort & Spa..  Our speaker will be Chef Made of the new organic and vegan restaurant Moksa restaurant who will discuss how he is training his Balinese staff and neighbors in organic gardening.
