Rotary Club Bali Ubud Sunset

Meetings held 2nd Monday of each month at Kakiang Garden Café, Jl Raya Andung, Ubud and the last Monday of each month at Maya resort and Spa Ubud. 5.30-7pm.

Announcements, reports, project updates, and guest welcoming.


President Tika opened the meeting and welcomed 9 members and 2 guests.

Guest Praba from Unicare Ubud, she will be our guest speaker at Maya, month to be announced.

Raza, lives in Ubud and said he was interested in becoming a member.


  1. Conference for Rotary 6-8th November
  2. Interview with Brad Webber from Rotary Magazine September 23/25th. Several members will attend with President Tika.
  3. An idea has been put forward from member Bruce, for a marketing and publicity committee. Discussion on this and a chair to be appointed once marketing role is defined.
  4. Member Bruce also suggested a wooden Rotary sign be erected at Kakiang Garden Café and Maya Resort. Permission to be requested .


Fund Raising.

Ray and Jim in process of producing new brochure, they have requested photos, many on our web site.

Web Page.

Discussions re name on FB domain to shorten it. Permission would possibly be required, but it was tried and our page comes up very easily.

Motion passed President to be admin of FB page and to approve all posts.


Future Projects.

Kedampal water project on going and funds still required.

Allan Starr to be asked to break down components of project for individual sponsorship. One or two overseas clubs may be interested in joint funding.

Submissions will be sent to those clubs.


Tika was approached by a teacher in a disabled school in Sumba for help with everything a school requires. Members felt this island is too far from our area and a club nearer could maybe help. Information to be sent to her.


Other Business.

Renee Heaton did a flag exchange from Rotary club Milton Keynes, England.

She also informed members that this Rotary club is very involved in the Mercy ships projects. Information can be found on Rotary International site about the Mercy Ships.

Marion Hook reported that the GO FUND ME for Taro had reached $ 320 and members were encouraged to donate and purchase gifts for the holiday season.


Raffle donated by Sue and Ray, and won on 2nd ticket draw by Renee.

Next meeting at Maya resort, 30 th September and guest speaker is  PhillipYesenda, former president.

Meeting closed 7 pm.
