RCBUS’ Treasurer holds a raffle at every meeting. Members and guests in attendance are invited to purchase a raffle ticket. The winning ticket holder takes home a small prize. RCBUS placed three donation boxes at three businesses: Ganesha Bookstore, Warung Bali Guling Pande Egi, and Warong Legong. Individual RCBUS members are assigned to manage each donation box.
RAISING FUNDS WITH SEWING FOR LIVING
When Sewing for Living places items in a place of business, those items are sold at a set price. The price includes the amount of money the women who have crafted the items have agreed upon. That amount goes directly to the woman who made the items. That amount is raised by 30% for the final sale. 20% is paid to the place of business, and RCBUS collects the remining 10% for its operating costs.
FUNDRAING FOR SEWING FOR LIVING
RCBUS members solicit in-kind donations of yarn, fabric, sewing, and crochet implements, and sewing machines from Rotary Clubs and individuals worldwide. Cash contributions are also accepted for this project. Other Rotary Clubs worldwide purchase products from Sewing for Living and sell those products in their communities. Some donate their proceeds to Sewing for Living.
FUNDRAISING FOR WATER PROJECTS
RCBUS members solicit cash donations from Rotary Clubs and individuals worldwide to support out purchase and installation of water tanks in Karangasem.
FUNDRAISING FOR THE LONG SAM PROGRAM
RCBUS will apply for a Global Grant from Rotary International to support this program. Sewing for Living creates crocheted orangutans. When one is sold, half of the proceeds goes directly to the orangutan’s creator. The other half goes to the Animals Rescue Center in East Kalimantan which is supported by the Long Sam Program.
ANNUAL FUNDRAISER
RCBUS sponsors Bogies for Bali, an annual charity golf tournament, held at Handara Gold & Resort Bali. The event includes a BBQ and chipping contest on Friday evening. Golf is played the next morning. The tournament is concluded with an awards luncheon which is accompanied by a raffle and a live auction. RCBUS members solicit sponsors and donors of raffle and live auctions prizes. The 3rd Annual Bogies for Bali Tournament will be held on September 22 & 23, 2023. Details for registration can be found on the accompanying poster, on our website and on our social media sites.
